                         Paulista est{\'a} situado na zona rural do munic{\'{\i}}pio e 
                         compreende uma extensa {\'a}rea, a qual {\'e} caracterizada pela 
                         presen{\c{c}}a de vegeta{\c{c}}{\~a}o, cursos d{\'a}gua, lagos 
                         e nascentes. Este trabalho de Inicia{\c{c}}{\~a}o 
                         Cient{\'{\i}}fica tem como objetivo a elabora{\c{c}}{\~a}o de 
                         uma base de dados georreferenciados, tais como limites e 
                         hidrografia; a confec{\c{c}}{\~a}o de mapas tem{\'a}ticos de 
                         vegeta{\c{c}}{\~a}o, hidrografia, nascentes, {\'a}reas de 
                         preserva{\c{c}}{\~a}o permanente (APPs), e uso e cobertura da 
                         terra, al{\'e}m de diagn{\'o}stico ambiental da {\'a}rea 
                         correspondente {\`a} unidade do INPE de Cachoeira Paulista. O 
                         mapeamento foi feito com o uso do Software ArcGis® 10.5 a partir 
                         de vetoriza{\c{c}}{\~a}o em tela e interpreta{\c{c}}{\~a}o de 
                         imagens dispon{\'{\i}}veis no Basemap. A elabora{\c{c}}{\~a}o 
                         dos mapas de hidrografia foi feita a partir do mapeamento dos 
                         lagos e do georreferenciamento dos cursos d{\'a}gua presentes na 
                         planta da {\'a}rea. As formas de uso e cobertura da terra foram 
                         identificadas e classificadas em tr{\^e}s classes: corpos 
                         d{\'a}gua; cobertura vegetal; e superf{\'{\i}}cies 
                         constru{\'{\i}}das, as quais foram subdivididas em oito 
                         subclasses: cursos d{\'a}gua; lagos; vegeta{\c{c}}{\~a}o 
                         campestre; vegeta{\c{c}}{\~a}o arb{\'o}rea nativa; pinos e 
                         eucaliptos; constru{\c{c}}{\~a}o civil; vias pavimentadas; e 
                         vias n{\~a}o pavimentadas. As APPs dos cursos d{\'a}gua, 
                         nascentes e lagos foram delimitadas de acordo com o 
                         Cap{\'{\i}}tulo II da Lei Federal nº 12.651, de 25 de maio de 
                         2012, que disp{\~o}e sobre a prote{\c{c}}{\~a}o da 
                         vegeta{\c{c}}{\~a}o nativa e estabelece normas de 
                         delimita{\c{c}}{\~a}o das APPs. A {\'a}rea total calculada 
                         neste trabalho foi de aproximadamente 10,351 km², apresentando 
                         diferentes tipos de uso e cobertura da terra em toda sua 
                         extens{\~a}o. A superf{\'{\i}}cie estudada foi caracterizada 
                         pela predomin{\^a}ncia de cobertura vegetal, apresentando 63,8% 
                         da {\'a}rea total composta por vegeta{\c{c}}{\~a}o campestre, 
                         21,8% constitu{\'{\i}}da por vegeta{\c{c}}{\~a}o arb{\'o}rea 
                         nativa e 7,8% por pinos e eucaliptos. Posteriormente, os elementos 
                         mapeados ser{\~a}o conferidos por meio de 
                         identifica{\c{c}}{\~a}o in loco, com a coleta de coordenadas de 
                         localiza{\c{c}}{\~a}o com receptor GPS (Global Positioning 
                         System), para confirmar a localiza{\c{c}}{\~a}o real dos mesmos. 
                         ABSTRACT: The National Institute for Space Research - INPE of 
                         Cachoeira Paulista - Brazil is situated in the countryside and 
                         comprises an extensive area, which is characterized by the 
                         presence of vegetation, water courses, lakes and springs. This 
                         project of Scientific Initiation had as objective to development 
                         of a georeferenced database, such as boundaries and hydrography; 
                         and the creation of thematic maps of vegetation, hydrography, 
                         springs, permanent preservation areas, and land use and land 
                         cover, as well as the environmental diagnosis of the area 
                         corresponding to the INPE unit of Cachoeira Paulista. The mapping 
                         was done using the ArcGis® 10.5 software from the on-screen 
                         vectorization and interpretation of interpretation of available 
                         images in Basemap. The elaboration of hydrography map was made 
                         from the mapping of the lakes and the georeferencing of the water 
                         courses present in the area plan. The forms of land use and land 
                         cover were identified and classified into three grades: water 
                         courses; vegetal cover; and built surfaces, such as those 
                         subdivided into sub grades: water courses; lakes; grass 
                         vegetation; native tree vegetation; pine and eucalyptus; built 
                         surfaces; paved roads and unpaved roads. The permanent 
                         preservation areas of the water courses, springs and lakes were 
                         delimited according to the chapter II of Federal Law of Brazil No 
                         12.651, of May 25, 2012, which provides for the protection of 
                         native vegetation and establishes rules for the delimitation of 
                         permanent preservation areas. The total area calculated in this 
                         work was approximately 10,351 km², with different types of land 
                         use and land cover. The studied surface was characterized by the 
                         predominance of vegetal cover, presenting 63,8% of the total area 
                         composed by grass vegetation, 21,8% constituted by native tree 
                         vegetation and 7,8% by pine and eucalyptus. Subsequently, the 
                         mapped elements will be checked by means of identification in 
                         loco, with the collection of location coordinates with GPS (Global 
                         Positioning System) to confirm the real location of the same.",
